Year 1 - Summer - Glanndour (Yeoman Beekeepers)
Things at the Glanndour household have been a little hectic. While the family seem to have collected a lot of wild beehives while I wasn’t playing them, they’re short on actual apiaries and not able to buy things from the catalog until the settlement reaches hamlet status.
Worse, the girls are starting to reach marrying age. Nicola, the eldest, is not allowed to marry 'below her station' - any suitors have to be yeomen or merchants. She could marry one of the soilders, maybe? But there aren’t that many of them around, and she seems to be more interested in peasants…
Newly aged up Nicola tried flirting with Michael Rudhall, which seemed to royally piss off Hannah Shepherd. Maybe they were able to talk things over, though?
She also went on a date with Finley Dowrick, which went well! I feel bad she can’t marry any of these guys she has such good chemistry with… Maybe, since she and Bryanna are twins, the title of “eldest” is kind of arbitary, and they could swap? Idk!
Bryanna spent a lot of the round in aspiration failure. It occurs to me that as a knowledge sim and gatherer with a green thumb, she might be a good candidate for the neighbourhood’s midwife? The Glanndours do grow herbs, too! Bryanna hasn’t really shown interest in any boys yet, but the house is too big and driving me nuts so I will keep my fingers crossed, haha.
Old Lambert suffered from illness and spent a lot of the round in bed rest. I was worried we would lose him! Which would be awful, since currently he’s the only one in the house with enough mechanical skill to handle honey-pressing. His son Bermund really needs to get up to speed before the old man kicks the bucket :(
The middle girl, Hilda, is another worry. She is constantly in apsiration failure and getting into fights with her younger sister, Maiwenn. This round she grew into a teenager and spent all her free time having tantrums :(
I was originally hoping that the Glanndours would be able to open the Hedge Tavern (and sell mead!), but their fortunes have been so bad. They were able to pay their taxes, at least!
