Year 1 - Summer - Dowrick
Things at the Dowricks are the same as ever, with the sims spending all day and night fishing, fishing, fishing.
Recently Margery found a cool shell in a tide pool that plays music, so that’s been a nice way for the family to unwind!
Margery has been working for the Mondegreens, but they’re not all that happy about her accidentally setting the house on first last round, and Lady Jessica fires her! What’s worse, the family recieve a $1000 fine for arson. Yikes.
Finley was hanging out with his sorta-secret boyfriend, Nigel, when he aged up into an adult. That’s one way to put the breaks on a relationship… I didn’t actually get any proper pictures of his adult makeover but he spend the rest of the round fishing, pretty much.
Helen and Alexander have been getting more serious. She ended up introducing him to her parents so they can properly approve of them marrying once they hit adulthood.
I think Margery is a bit jealous of her younger sister - always noogieing her and putting her in her place! She grows up later in the season and quickly decides she isn’t going to just settle for any old peasant - she’s marrying rich!
She has triple bolt chemistry with several old men, too. Captain of the guard Sir Roberte Mondegreen and yeoman Lambert Glanndour. To be honest, I’m not sure how marriage with single elders works (the rules are kind of vague about it), but I honestly think either of them could be interesting candidates!
Anyway, the family are really raking in the cash now. Fishing is just super lucrative, especially with four family members (Daveth, Thomas, Finley and little Annie) all fishing constantly with super-high body skill.
Their tax requirements were really easy to meet, even with Margery’s arson fine! I was wondering how on earth peasants were ever supposed to raise enough money to move up in society, but it seems more doable now. But might get tougher once the girls move out…
