Driftwood

A small settlement on the coast of Dezruland, Driftwood is the setting for my first ever Medieval Charter Challenge. I first began the challenge in 2024, after getting heavily inspired by TeaAddict's YouTube tour of her MCC hood, and after reading a lot of sterina-sims' blog. This challenge, which contained elements of other challenges I loved and seemed simpler than other historical challenges I'd seen, really intrigued me! I had attempted a Test of Time challenge way back in 2014, ten years previously, but found the sheer scale of the challenge overwhelming. This one seemed manageable, and I found the concept really inspiring!

I have currently just reached Year 2, and am close to village status (level 3). When playing the challenge I wanted to focus more on enjoying the game and less on storytelling and documenting every little thing, so I took way less pictures than normal. Of course, however, I've become attached to it now and wanted a space on this site to document everything after all :D

Year 1 - Summer

As Driftwood enters the Summer months, a band of soilders found a small keep on top of a hill. With many of the settlement's girls reaching marriage age, these handsome bachelors are sure to shake things up!

Year 1 - Autumn

In the Autumn, Clarissa Benedict arrives to manage the local church. And it's a good thing the church is here, as many couples are ready to be wed and many elders are ready to be dead.

Year 1 - Winter

Winter rolled around just as our settlement reached Hamlet status. That means merchants, and a marketplace! But with the the cold coming in, will there even be any goods to sell?
